About Us
Founded in 2011, the Morton 201 Foundation is a 501(c)3 whose mission is to provide inspiration and enrichment to the students of J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 through opportunities and resources supportive of their educational experiences.
J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 serves over 8,500 students and is comprised of 5 schools: Morton East, Morton West, The Freshmen Center, The Freshman Academy, and the Alternative School.
We believe in the pursuit of higher education so one of the ways that we support our students is through scholarships.
In 2019, we established the Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund so that we could offer scholarships to graduating seniors who wanted to pursue their education and attend accredited colleges, universities, technical, or trade schools.
The one time $2,000 award is based on outstanding academic performance, contributions to the school, extracurricular activities (or work experience) financial need, community service, and overall merit.
To date, the Morton 201 Foundation has awarded 71 scholarships totaling $128,000! We want to keep that momentum going but we need your help.
We host 3 annual fundraisers to raise money for our Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund: two Dinner & Theatre Nights (at Morton East in the Spring and Morton West in the Fall) as well as our Annual Support Local Fundraiser.
