  • Sprinkler Program Sprinkler Program

    "Thinking about installing or retrofitting your sprinkler system? You're in luck! New tax law allows you to deduct this installation or retrofit from your taxes in the exact same year (rather than the previous 39-year depreciation schedule). The eligible purchase amount was also increased to $1 million.

    The Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Restaurant Employee Relief Fund is providing $500 cash to restaurant workers who’ve been hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Our Finish Line Grant program is now available to every commercial property in our TIF Districts for a second year running. 
    
    What does this mean for you? If you're a for-profit business that has operated in Berwyn for 2 years or longer, you're potentially eligible for matching grant funds. Eligible expenses include marketing and build-out of your physical space. Here is what you could be eligible for:
     
    • Marketing match of 50%, up to $500 max
    • Buildout/Facade/Signage match - 50% of the first $10,000, plus 40% of the second $10,000, for up to $9,000 max
     
    This new program has more than $500,000 total available, and we're trying to maximize the business benefit.

  • James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Investment Fund for Black and Indigenous Americans

    In acknowledgement of the immeasurable contribution that Black and Indigenous Americans have made to the modern American foodscape, the James Beard Foundation is launching the James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Investment Fund for Black and Indigenous Americans to provide financial resources for food or beverage businesses that are majority-owned by Black or Indigenous individuals.

    This new Fund will provide $15,000 grants to diverse food and beverage businesses that are majority-owned by Black or Indigenous individuals across six regions nationally.

  • Southern Smoke Foundation

    Southern Smoke Foundation has more than $3 million dollars available through its Chicago Restaurant Worker Relief Fund available to help Chicago and Cook County restaurant, bar and coffee shop workers who are experiencing hardship from the COVID-19 crisis.

    This fund provides emergency relief grants based on need to these workers who have lost wages or employment due to the shutdown for the pandemic.

    Grants will be awarded to applicants who meet eligibility requirements, including demonstrated need, as assessed by Southern Smoke Foundation, a nonprofit organization that also administers a national food and beverage Emergency Relief fund.
