Long time Berwyn resident, Lucile Evans, will be honored at the Pav YMCA's Teeter Award Celebration on Friday May 11, 2018. Lucile has been an integral part of Berwyn her entire life. She has been present at nearly every important Berwyn milestone, including when the famous Burlington Zephyr train sped through the city.

Mrs. Evans was part of the committee that successfully acquired the land that the YMCA now stands on after the infamous lumber yard disaster. She worked tirelessly with the group that raised enough funds to outbid other interested parties and became one of the founding members of the first YMCA board.  She has always remained one of the YMCA’s most vocal and loyal boosters.

Throughout the years Lucile has been a steadfast supporter and unofficial ambassador of the goodwill for Berwyn. She is unwavering in her love of all things Berwyn and can still be found at every function, large or small supporting our schools, parks, fire and police departments, neighborhood activities, Church Socials, and more. Her involvement is legendary and endless. For these and so many other reasons the Pav YMCA is honored to recognize Lucile for all she has done for our community.

The Teeter Award Celebration is a fundraiser for the Pav YMCA benefiting the Y’s programs and services. The Y turns no one away based on ability to pay. The funds raised go directly to help those that can not normally afford the Y’s services.
