It’s time to #LeanInTogether. The BDC’s Women in Business Group is founded on the belief that we are better together than alone. This month we will focus on what our body language says about us. Body language is an important part of how we communicate, influencing everything from hiring and promotion decisions to the outcomes of political races. This meeting will teach you how to use your body to increase your confidence in high-stakes situations (like job interviews, stressful social encounters, and public speaking engagements) when personal presence matters most.
Key Takeaways:
Body language influences how others think and feel about you
People use nonverbal cues to display power
You can change your mind-set using your body
Power posing is effective in high-stakes situations
The Women in Business Group is Berwyn’s first and only forum for women in all levels of business. Expect lively discussion on issues that are important to your growth. Connect with other local professionals on a deeper level, learn new best practices and build comradery with other women conquering the same challenges you face in your business and career. Participation is free to BDC members at Tiers 2 and up. Non members can attend a complimentary meeting without commitment.
The Group is chaired by Jenny Mitchell Brendel of Holistic Divorce Resolution and Melissa Young-Kowalski of Dwellings Real Estate Inc. Staff Liaison is Erika Owens of the Berwyn Development Corporation. Please reach out to them if you'd like to learn more about the group!
We encourage you to brown bag your lunch. Bring a colleague!
