The Women is Business group uses the LEAN IN model to frame our conversation around leadership and overall empowerment. This session will focus on the importance of Connecting.
For some, forging true connection does not feel like real work. Not so! Reciprocity is the currency of work relationships, but genuine trust building turns that transaction into much more. Those who cultivate meaningful community from their networks are able to scale their leadership visions.
. The takeaways from this session will be the following:
Build Trust-Based Relationships
Build Networks and Communities around you
Foster Relationships with Possible Sponsors
In preparation for the meeting consider the following:
Pick up a copy of Sheryl Sandberg's book, Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead. For those with more limited time, invest 15 minutes to watch Sandberg's landmark TED Talk that sparked the Lean In movement (watch here).
Read this interesting article on the 5 ways to build trust fast: -5-ways-to-build-trust-fast. If you cannot get through any of these items, don't fret! There is still plenty to be gained in these meetings for new faces to the most prepared participants. It's wonderfully organic!
The Women in Business Group is Berwyn's first and only forum for women in all levels of business. Expect lively discussion on issues that are important to your growth. Connect with other local professionals on a deeper level, learn new best practices and build camaraderie with other women conquering the same challenges you face in your business and career.
Please invite colleagues to this engaging gathering. Don't forget your lunch.
