Who We Are...

An outgrowth of the Berwyn Business Development Commission, the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) was incorporated in 1983 by a group of dedicated people who realized the potential of a public/private partnership for developing effective solutions to the growing economic and social needs of the Berwyn community. Today, the BDC is a charitable and educational non-profit organization, serving all segments of the Berwyn community by identifying community issues, gathering local resources, and planning and implementing constructive solutions.

What We Do...

The BDC primarily focuses its efforts on those activities that will improve the overall climate for local business and encourage the development of additional business and employment opportunities, with particular emphasis on community planning, encouraging new business locations, retaining existing businesses, promoting Berwyn’s commercial and residential assets, and supporting the interdependence of Berwyn’s residents and businesses BDC members are area business owners, government officials, community leaders, and local residents who share a commitment to making Berwyn the best city in which to work, live or run a business. All join the BDC to actively participate and support its efforts to build a better future: each brings a unique vision or gift, and each helps make Berwyn an even better community – one where businesses succeed and families thrive.
